BCS Connect are seeking to employ an experienced Site Manager on behalf of our client to manage groundworks and civil infrastructure works on residential developments. This is a permanent opportunity for a hands-on professional with strong leadership skills and proven experience delivering complex infrastructure packages.
Responsibilities
* Manage and oversee all on-site groundworks and infrastructure activities, including Section 278 works, roads, sewers, drainage, and associated external works.
* Coordinate and manage multiple gangs of operatives (approximately 30-40 personnel).
* Act as the main point of contact with clients, local authorities, subcontractors, and suppliers.
* Ensure works are delivered in line with approved drawings, specifications, and project programmes.
* Lead daily site briefings, toolbox talks, and site inductions to promote a strong health & safety culture.
* Monitor and enforce full compliance with health & safety legislation and site procedures.
* Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, and programme updates.
* Support labour planning, material procurement, and resource allocation to ensure efficient delivery.
Requirements
* Proven experience managing groundworks and civil infrastructure works on residential developments.
* Strong knowledge of Section 278 works, road construction, and sewer installations.
* SMSTS or CSCS Black Card (essential).
* First Aid at Work certification.
* Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
* Excellent understanding of construction methods and health & safety regulations.
