Job Title: Structural Steel Site Manager Location: East London (with potential UK-wide travel) Job Type: Contract (Approx. 2 Months) - Potential for Permanent About the Role An established structural steel contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee steel erection works on a project in East London. This is an immediate requirement with a start available from early/mid April, with the possibility of a longer-term opportunity for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day structural steel installation on-site Supervise subcontractors, labour, and lifting operations Ensure full compliance with UK health & safety regulations (CDM, LOLER, PUWER) Implement RAMS, lifting plans, and quality procedures Coordinate with main contractor, engineers, and client teams Monitor programme and report progress/issues Oversee deliveries, offloading, and storage of steelwork Manage snagging, QA, and project handover Requirements Minimum 5 years' experience in structural steel site management Strong background in steel erection (frames, multi-storey, or similar) SMSTS and CSCS (Black/Gold Card) - essential Experience working with Tier 1 contractors Good understanding of drawings, connections, and site tolerances Full UK driving licence Desirable Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) Temporary Works Supervisor/Coordinator First Aid at Work NVQ Level 6 (or equivalent) Package Competitive rate/salary (DOE) Vehicle or allowance Expenses covered (where applicable) Opportunity to transition into a permanent role
