Turner Lovell is recruiting a Civil Site Manager with proven experience delivering civil works on major power and renewable energy projects. The successful candidate will oversee the HV Cable scope and package for an existing high-voltage substation, managing site activities liaising with the client and subcontractors.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead on behalf of a key contractor within the UK electricity transmission sector, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Day-to-day management of site operatives, subcontractors, and civil construction activities.
Develop and implement safety documentation, including Construction Phase Plans, Site Quality Plans, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements.
Carry out site inductions, toolbox talks, and daily briefings.
Prepare and issue daily Safe Systems of Work and oversee permit-to-work compliance.
Maintain and monitor project schedules to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
Produce and maintain project records, including site diaries and reporting documentation.
Attend weekly progress meetings with client and project stakeholders.
Resolve issues or conflicts arising during construction and ensure quality control throughout.
Drive high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.Requirements (Essential):

First Aid at Work
CSCSDesirable Skills
Knowledge of NEC contracts
Strong understanding of legislation relating to health, safety, and environment
IT literacy (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel)
Relevant qualification in construction, mechanical, or electrical engineering
Temporary Works Co-ordinator & Supervisor
Strong civil engineering experience within substations, power, or renewable energy projects
Ability to work independently and lead site teams effectively
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
