Learning Opportunities is a specialist SEND school dedicated to supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism, communication difficulties and challenging behaviours. Our approach combines therapeutic education, outdoor learning, academic pathways and practical life skills to create meaningful learning experiences that help every student to thrive. We are seeking a compassionate, resilient and practical outdoor learning & SEND support assistant to join our team. This is a varied role combining classroom support, 1:1 intervention work, and outdoor/forest school learning opportunities.
As a full time Learning Mentor you will work alongside our teaching staff and theraputic teams to support students both in the classroom and through outdoor learning activities. You will play a key role in building positive relationships, supporting emotional regulation, and helping students engage with education in creative and practical ways. This role is ideal for someone who is energetic, open minded, hands on and passionate about making a difference to young people with aditional needs.
If you are looking for a challenge, are a confident team player who is able to demonstrate previous succes in working with children, can evidence using your own initiative to support successful learning and demonstrate the ability to support a positive and relational approach to behaviour support with a calm and friendly manner then we would welcome your application.
A full clean driving licence is essential as there will be the requirement to support students at offsite placements.
