Key Responsibilities: Prepare and cook a variety of nutritious meals, catering to the dietary, cultural, ethical, and religious needs of our residents Bake cakes and pastries for daily meals and special occasions Plan weekly menus in consultation with residents and staff, adapting to changing preferences and dietary requirements Order food and kitchen supplies, ensuring stock rotation and minimising waste Maintain accurate records of fridge, freezer, and food temperatures in line with food safety standards Supervise kitchen assistants and delegate tasks as required Ensure the kitchen is clean, safe, and compliant with all hygiene regulations, including maintaining a rota for regular deep cleaning Understand and manage food allergies and special dietary needs with care and diligence What We’re Looking For: Minimum of 6 months’ experience cooking in a residential care setting Proven ability to prepare varied meals and baked goods from scratch Knowledge of dietary and allergy requirements in older adults Excellent organisational and communication skills Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team Current Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (minimum) Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety What We Offer: Supportive and friendly working environment Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on residents’ wellbeing Ongoing training and dev...
