We are looking for an experienced HR Manager for a leading manufacturing company.
The role
The company is seeking an HR Manager for a site of approximately 180 employees. The role reports to the Site Director with a dotted line to the VP HR and supervises one staff member. It is a key position within the Site Leadership Team, responsible for overseeing all HR activities on site, fostering an inclusive culture, and acting as a strategic partner to the Site Lead on initiatives such as performance management, talent acquisition, engagement, retention, learning and development, and workforce planning.
Responsibilities include:
1. Driving HR capabilities on site and providing efficient HR services aligned with business needs.
2. Advising the Leadership Team and Line Managers on HR matters and implementing change programs.
3. Managing HR administrative support activities.
4. Handling employee relations and attendance issues, coaching managers as needed.
5. Promoting engagement and collaboration with local union officials.
6. Executing annual Wellbeing and Engagement surveys and implementing action plans.
7. Overseeing Apprenticeship and early careers schemes.
8. Managing local benefit administration in collaboration with payroll services.
9. Updating and developing local and regional HR policies in line with legislation and best practices.
10. Contributing to the development and implementation of HR programs and annual plans.
11. Ensuring HR compliance, providing regular data and KPIs such as headcount, demographics, absence, gender pay, and engagement metrics.
12. Implementing corporate initiatives locally and participating in regional and global HR projects.
13. Performing other related duties as required.
The ideal candidate
* Proven experience as an HR Manager, preferably in manufacturing or a related industry.
* A professional, strategic, and commercial approach to HR.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
* Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
* Highly organized, flexible, and capable of multitasking.
* Strong knowledge of employment law.
* IT literacy.
* Ability to operate effectively at both operational and strategic levels.
* CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience.
