General Purpose: The Food Preparer is responsible for preparing various food products.
Essential Duties:
1. Follows recipes and/or product directions for proper food preparation.
2. Maintains quality control for all products, including monitoring freshness daily.
3. Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or cart.
4. Prepares appropriate equipment for cooking.
5. Operates kitchen utensils and equipment used for weighing, measuring, mixing, washing, peeling, cutting, grinding, stirring, straining, slicing, assembling, and kneading food products.
6. Ensures proper food handling procedures are followed, including wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating, and checking temperatures of products.
7. Receives and inventories food, beverage products, and supplies.
8. Cleans and sanitizes work stations and equipment.
9. Performs any other duties as assigned by the Department Manager.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience/training; or equivalent combination.
Physical Demands: Frequently stands, uses hands, talks, hears, tastes, and smells. Regularly walks and reaches. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
Environment/Noise: Works in extreme heat, near moving mechanical parts, and occasionally in cold, wet, humid conditions, or outdoors. Noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses: Food Safety and Sanitation Training.
Preferred Skills: Ability to read and speak English to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers; understanding of equipment manuals in English.
