Site Manager – External Civils

Are you a proactive Site Manager with a strong civils background looking for your next challenge? We're hiring for an experienced and hands-on professional to oversee the external civil engineering works for a major school development in the south of Edinburgh.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth on-site operations, compliance with safety protocols, and successful delivery of civils packages. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a meaningful project that will serve the local community for years to come.
Key Responsibilities:
Take full ownership of external works delivery onsite
Conduct contractor inductions and oversee daily site activities
Set up and manage site welfare, logistics, and safety procedures
Review RAMS, manage permits, and ensure strict compliance with H&S standards
Lead on-site programme management and track progress against milestones
Liaise closely with the Senior Project Manager and wider team for support and oversight
Carry out regular audits to ensure SSOW and RAMS are being followed
Manage agency personnel as required based on project demands
What We’re Looking For:
Gold or Black CSCS card
SMSTS qualification
First Aid certificate
Strong background in civil engineering, ideally on education or public sector projects
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Proactive, safety-focused approach with attention to detail
