Salary: £40,000 - £45,000pa (Accommodation & bills included)
Accommodation: 1-bedroom self-contained furnished flat (on-site)
Overview
A warm and welcoming family is seeking a reliable and experienced Live-In Housekeeper / Cook to support the smooth running of their peaceful countryside home. The family of five, including three teenagers and a friendly dog, use this 8-bedroom property primarily for weekends and school holidays and consider it their sanctuary - calm, comfortable, and well cared-for, so they’re looking for someone who brings a sense of pride and peace to the role.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping Duties:
• Full cleaning, tidying, and upkeep of the main house and occasional support with the guest cottage
• Laundry and ironing to a high standard
• Bed-making and linen changes
• Restocking household essentials and ensuring a high standard of cleanliness throughout
Cooking Duties:
• Preparing fresh, and healthy family-style meals when the family are in residence
• Grocery shopping and kitchen/pantry management
• Occasional baking or batch-prepping meals in advance of arrivals
General Duties:
• Coordinating with tradespeople, contractors, and deliveries as needed
• Liaising with the gardeners and handyman
• Maintaining a guest-ready, organised, and welcoming environment at all times
• Acting as a calm, discreet, and dependable presence on the property
• Some pet care as required
• Running errands
Working Pattern
• The typical work schedule includes weekends when the family are in residence, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off
• Greater flexibility is available when the family are not in residence
• This is a full-time role with more active periods during weekends and school holidays
Candidate Requirements
• Previous experience in a similar live-in role,
• Confident and enthusiastic cook with a focus on healthy, seasonal, and family-friendly meals
• Self-motivated, discreet, and proactive with excellent attention to detail
• Happy to work weekends and adjust routines around the family’s presence
• Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
• Full UK driving licence (car available for work use)
