St. Vincent's Catholic Primary School is a successful three form entry primary school with a nursery on site. The Sunshine Club provides quality breakfast, after-school and holiday childcare for pupils from the school aged 4 to 11 years.
Level 2 or above in Catering and/or relevant experience essential.
TERM TIME ONLY
Working hours (39 weeks): 22.5 hours per week, pm Monday to Friday
ROLE PURPOSE:
To be in sole charge of providing afternoon snacks for the children at the Sunshine Club following 6-weekly rota of menus, including ordering, stock rotation, food preparation.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
To have a working knowledge of, and apply the standards identified by, HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points).
To attend and successfully complete a recognised Food Handling and Hygiene Course and other relevant training linked to health, safety and hygiene; refresh this knowledge by engaging in training at least every three years
To wear the protective clothing and hat provided when preparing food
To store food appropriately and check expiry dates in accordance with current Health and Safety requirements, ensuring effective stock rotation at all times
To prepare and serve afternoon snacks ensuring that all dietary / allergy requirements are accounted for
To wash, dry and put away pots after meals, clean the tables and sweep the kitchen floor
To display weekly menus and write shopping lists in advance, and follow correct ordering procedures from a supermarket and other reputable local suppliers
A full induction will be provided and there will be opportunities for additional training throughout your employment.
