THE COMPANY
A large, well respected consumer appliances brand known for their premium electrical products. They have an excellent reputation and are innovators in their category. They've created a new role in their Quality team to support the Head of Quality as the business expands its product range into additional electrical categories and aims to improve its ways of working across the group. They’re looking for help mainly with product compliance of this new range but also with additional process/project work on wider quality improvements supporting the Head of Quality with building and improving the QMS. The business mainly works remotely with ‘all hands’ days at their UK head office during key NPD phases.
THE ROLE
Working remotely, you’ll support the development and delivery of high-quality consumer electrical products across the UK and EU. You’ll be the technical link between Buying / Category Management, R&D Engineering, Far East suppliers and at source QC, combining hands-on validation with process improvement and compliance management.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting new product development with technical knowledge and taking the lead on product testing, validation, and compliance checks
* Driving product improvements by reducing defects through structured investigations ensuring lessons learned from warranty drivers are embedded in future designs
* Working closely with Far East teams and suppliers to resolve factory issues through corrective action plans and approve pre-shipment inspections
* Developing and maintaining technical documentation, specifications, and quality records
* Working on projects to align ways of working across the wider group
* Supporting the Head of Quality with maintaining and improving the group QMS and redeveloping QA systems from the ground up
* International travel to the Far East and Europe
ABOUT YOU
You’ll have a strong technical background in consumer electrical products, ideally within domestic appliances. You’ll bring a working knowledge of UKCA, CE marking, and ISO9001-style quality systems. You’ll have a collaborative, improvement-focused mindset with a knack for making complex systems and processes simpler and more effective. You’ll ideally have contributed to building and enhancing a Quality Management System and embedded processes or new ways of working. You’ll be comfortable working remotely with occasional UK travel and international travel to the Far East and Europe.
