About the Role
To be considered for this role you will share our Gleeson values of being passionate, collaborative and respectful, and have previous experience as a Site Manager working on high‑volume new‑build housing developments. The role involves managing the onsite team, working with external partners and subcontractors, and collaborating with the onsite Sales team.
Main Responsibilities
We’re looking for proactive people who believe in what we’re doing: building homes, changing lives. Collaborative leaders, positively influencing teams, communicating across departments, and reinforcing directions set out by the Contracts manager and Construction Director. You will help deliver the development safely and on schedule, leading by example.
The Role Includes
* Managing the development to maintain and deliver the build programme in accordance with budgets and forecasts, ensuring the final product meets Gleeson Homes standard.
* Full responsibility and control of all site staff and subcontractors, including labour‑only groundworkers/contractors, ensuring compliance with our Health and Safety standards.
* Liaison with head office, NHBC, and local authority departments.
* Timely ordering of materials to enable the build programme.
* Ensuring all NHBC inspections are carried out as required.
* Carrying out hand‑over inspections of properties to customers in accordance with our customer care procedures.
* Completing any customer care defects raised in conjunction with our customer care team as soon as practicably possible.
* Actively encouraging a philosophy of safety, progress, quality and innovation.
The Ideal Candidate
* Previous experience as a Site Manager on high‑volume new‑build housing development.
* Extensive knowledge and experience managing labour‑only groundworkers/contractors.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Excellent knowledge of construction build programmes.
* Strong commercial awareness.
* Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes.
* Experience of successfully achieving customer service requirements.
* Awareness of codes of practice impacting construction matters (e.g., NHBC, Building Regulations).
* Mainsably able to use Zutec and Digital plot books.
