Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Sous Chef / Cook to join our team in a busy Care Home Kitchen. The ideal candidate will assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining a smooth workflow.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the Head Chef to plan and create menus
* Supervise food preparation activities to deliver dishes of exceptional quality
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety in the kitchen
* Assist in training kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and procedures
* Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Qualifications
* Previous experience working in a care home environment, with a basic understanding of modified diet requirements (IDDSI)
* Proficient in various cooking techniques and food preparation methods
* Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
* Strong culinary skills with a passion for creating delicious dishes
* Ability to work well under pressure and lead a team effectively
