Overview
A day in the life: You will become an integral part of our residents' home through daily interaction, not just at mealtimes but throughout your working day. Our aim is to ensure the wonderful world of food is available to all, including those with eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties. The social aspect of dining and the nutritious content of meals is fundamental to the health and wellbeing of residents in our care settings.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook food, supervise the onsite catering team and ensure the delivery of the catering service in the absence of the Cook Manager.
* Collaborate with the onsite care team using a detailed catering handover sheet to support person-centred care.
* Work with our central team to manage food safety, health and safety and food allergens; utilise the kitchen management system and minimize paperwork where possible.
What we are looking for
You will have previous experience working in a busy kitchen environment with an organised approach, alongside a good understanding of the food industry, ideally with knowledge of textured modified diets (IDDSI) and working to a set budget. A passion for delivering fantastic customer service is essential, and you should demonstrate strong communication skills with an adaptable approach to work. * Salary: £13.79 per hour
* Contract: Permanent
* Hours: Full-time
* Shift pattern: Week 1 – Wednesday 7:30–11:00; Thursday 15:00–18:30; Friday 15:00–18:30
Week 2 – Friday 7:30–18:30; Saturday 7:30–11:00; Sunday 7:30–11:00
