Plumpton Racecourse is a historic and vibrant sporting venue nestled in the heart of the Sussex countryside. With a proud tradition of delivering unforgettable race days and hosting premium events, they’re looking for a driven Head of Sales to grow their commercial revenues across raceday hospitality, sponsorship, group bookings, and non-racing events.
You’ll be based at Plumpton Racecourse and will play a key role in driving ticketing, hospitality, and sponsorship sales, working closely with marketing and operations to ensure an outstanding experience for clients and partners.
What you'll be doing:
Sales and Business Development
Lead sales across raceday hospitality, group bookings, and sponsorship packages
Develop new business opportunities and support the retention of existing clients
Deliver targeted sales campaigns including email marketing, telemarketing, and partner promotions
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
Build strong relationships with new and existing customers
Support the planning and delivery of familiarisation events and client visits on racedays
Represent Plumpton at relevant industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities
Event Support
Contribute to the success of non-racing event sales
Ensure smooth handover of client bookings to operations and delivery teams
Assist in identifying new commercial opportunities aligned to business goals
Marketing Collaboration
Work closely with the marketing team to support promotional campaigns and customer acquisition
Help ensure customer data is effectively used to generate leads and repeat business
Support the implementation of ICX strategies to improve customer experience and sales performance
What you’ll bring:
Proven experience in a sales or commercial role, ideally within the sport, leisure, or events sectors
A proactive approach to generating leads and securing bookings
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Confidence in building rapport with clients and handling negotiations
Organised and able to manage multiple projects and campaigns at once
