? Join Our Team as a Clerical Officer / Administrative Support - NHS ?
Salary- £12.31 per hour ( Band 3 )
Location: Belfast City Hospital
Do you have excellent organisational skills, a professional telephone manner, and a passion for supporting patient care? We're looking for a proactive and reliable individual to join our friendly NHS team.
In this vital role, you'll work closely with Consultants, healthcare teams, and patients to ensure our service runs smoothly and efficiently. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellent communication will directly contribute to delivering high-quality patient experiences.
? Main Responsibilities:
1. Provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support to Consultants and the wider clinical team.
2. Act as the first point of contact for patients, relatives, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
3. Handle telephone enquiries with professionalism, accuracy, and empathy.
4. Coordinate appointments, admissions, and documentation to ensure patients receive timely care.
5. Process referrals and maintain accurate patient records using our IT systems in line with NHS protocols.
6. Manage incoming mail, case notes, and test results efficiently and in accordance with Trust policies.
7. Attend meetings, take notes, and follow up on agreed actions.
8. Collect and collate data for service monitoring and improvement.
9. Play a role in shaping and improving our local policies and procedures.
? What We're Looking For:
10. Previous administrative/secretarial experience, ideally in a healthcare setting.
11. Strong IT skills and ability to quickly learn new systems.
12. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
13. Ability to prioritise workload, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
14. A positive, flexible attitude and commitment to patient care.
