Prospero Teaching is seeking a committed and empathetic SEND Learning Mentor to join our specialist school in Chester. The school supports students aged 4 to 19 years, many of whom have autism, as well as additional learning difficulties and challenging behaviours.
About the Role:
As a Learning Mentor, you will work closely with pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis, helping to remove barriers to learning and build positive relationships. You will play a vital role in promoting emotional wellbeing, social development, and positive behaviour, while working alongside a passionate and experienced multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build trusting relationships with students to support engagement and learning.
* Provide tailored mentoring to support behaviour regulation and emotional resilience.
* Help implement personalised learning plans and behaviour support strategies.
* Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists, and families to ensure consistent support.
* Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with children or young people with autism and/or additional needs.
* Calm, patient, and resilient with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Relevant qualifications or training (in youth work, behaviour support, or mental health) are desirable but not essential.
