School HR Manager | Luton | £220 to £290 per day
CER are working in partnership with a busy Secondary School in the Luton area who are recruiting for a School HR Manager. The position will ideally start immediately and continue throughout the summer and next academic year. the role is full-time. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic HR professional looking to continue within the education sector
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, key skills and experience:
* Employment law awareness - especially education-specific regulations (e.g. safer recruitment, safeguarding, KCSIE).
* HR administration - handling employee records, contracts, offer letters, onboarding, DBS checks.
* Recruitment and selection - supporting or managing end-to-end recruitment cycles.
* Absence and leave management - sickness monitoring, return-to-work processes, annual leave tracking.
* Payroll and HR systems - use of trust specific HR software and liaison with payroll providers.
* CIPD Level 5
Responsibilities will include:
* Responsible for the provision of a comprehensive personal service including typing/word processing of a vast range of documents, drafting straight forward letters, receiving/passing on of messages, in order to assist the Headteacher in the smooth running of the school. Undertake regular review of systems and ensure that agreed changes are implemented.
* Responsible for administering all procedures in relation to HR/Personnel including staff absence, return to work interviews and completing documentation for personnel and payroll sections, for starters, leavers and variations, securing authorisation from the Headteacher as necessary. Maintain all records and undertake procedures with relation to Safer Recruitment.
* To be responsible for liaising with staff to ensure the efficient processing of the Headteachers workload and dealing with staff related issues to assist and support the work of the school. To manage the work of any staff that may be designated to assist and support the work of the HR Officer/Personal Assistant.
