The Role
Due to continued growth, Daniel Owen are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join a thriving and fast-paced construction environment across the Stoke and Chester areas.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of key projects within a large-scale capital works programme, focusing on social housing refurbishment and property enhancements.
You will play a vital role in leading site teams and subcontractors, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage site teams to deliver refurbishment projects safely and effectively
2. Oversee internal and external refurbishment works within social housing
3. Manage subcontractors, resources, and programme timelines
4. Ensure strict compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and Company policies
5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date site records and documentation
6. Conduct site inductions and ensure all personnel meet compliance standards
7. Drive high standards of site presentation and organisation
8. Hold regular site meetings and ensure effective planning of works
9. Motivate, support, and develop site staff through training and performance management
10. Work collaboratively with stakeholders across all levels
What We're Looking For
Essential:
11. NVQ Level 4 / HNC (or equivalent)
12. SMSTS qualification
13. Proven experience managing refurbishment projects
14. Strong understanding of building and construction processes
15. Scaffold inspection certification
16. First Aid at Work
17. Asbestos awareness
18. Full UK driving licence
19. Strong communication and leadership skills
20. Ability to review and challenge subcontractor RAMS
Desirable:
21. CIOB or relevant professional membership
22. Knowledge of ASTA planning software
23. Retrofit or affordable housing experience
24. Familiarity with JCT / NEC contracts
25. Temporary works knowledge
26. Experience working alongside tenant liaison teams
