Our client based in East London provide housing and hotel management services in partnership with local authorities and are currently looking for a Safeguarding Manager to join and lead a team of Welfare officers. You will be overseeing the work that the welfare teams and safeguarding administrator carry out. There is already a structure in place, your role would be to lead from the front using your knowledge and experience. This role is based at head office and there are over 21 sites across London and the South East that you would need to book visits with on an ongoing basis. Once booked, you would spend a day on site working with and managing the safeguarding team. This would also be an opportunity for you to engage directly with vulnerable service users and obtain feedback. Your usual hours would be from 9am to 5:50pm daily from Monday to Friday. There is some flexibility on earlier starts and finishes where possible. As the Safeguarding Manager, if an urgent situation arose you would need to be available to support and guide your teams outside of normal working hours.

Responsibilities
* Managing a team of Welfare and safeguarding officers, covering cases with vulnerable individuals and families including and not limited to asylum seekers,
* Dealing with complaints and safeguarding concerns where your intervention and expertise is needed
* Dealing with organising internal training courses for individuals if you feel it would be valuable for their day to day
* Reporting Incidents of high level concern to the Senior Leadership and Directors, along with proposals and required outcomes
* Liaising with the Home Office and Local Authorities regarding incidents and the reporting of them
* Supporting your teams on a daily basis and having the ability to investigate matters with urgency whilst continuing to prioritise your own workload
Requirements
* Previous experience of being in a Safeguarding role
* Knowledge of overseeing incident reports of a serious nature
* The ability to work independently and be proactive in emergency situations
* Be a driver as you will need to travel on a regular basis
* As this role is very specialised the client will only consider applicants who have worked with multi-agency referrals and have a clear understanding of Safeguarding management.
A full enhanced DBS check will need to be undertaken before you start work.
