Location and Employment
Equans is looking for a Site Manager to join our team at Venture House, Greasbrough Street, Rotherham S60 1RF. This is a permanent, full‑time role (40 hours per week) with an annual salary of £30,000.00 and a benefits package.
Shift Times
Monday to Friday – any 8 hours between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm, with a 1‑hour unpaid lunch break.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for day‑to‑day running and security of the site.
* Ensure all safeguarding requirements and relevant training are met.
* Lead a team of multi‑skilled caretakers to provide an exceptional service to all stakeholders.
* Provide efficient reactive and planned maintenance for the school, upholding standards outlined in the PFI Performance Management document.
* Manage Equans staff and all contractors/sub‑contractors on site, ensuring all health and safety procedures and policies are upheld.
* Maintain accurate site records, including PPMs, work orders, site log books, visitor and induction records.
* Ensure work orders are closed or updated correctly in relation to their sites.
* Undertake general caretaking duties such as porter services, reactive cleaning, general maintenance, and planned maintenance activities; work in all weathers.
* Provide regular support to the school to enable delivery of the teaching curriculum and communicate with school representatives.
* Record statutory and mandatory planned maintenance duties.
* Log reactive maintenance tasks on the helpdesk.
* Proactively carry out a daily regime of “find it, fix it” or report to the helpdesk and ensure follow‑up within the service level agreement.

Qualifications
* Good customer relationship promotion
* Experience safeguarding in an education environment
* Proven practical maintenance skills
* Understanding of building services such as boilers, heating, lighting and water management
* Knowledge of health and safety
* Ability to follow site and company policies and procedures
* Strong communication skills across all levels
* Understanding of plant to be maintained
* Live within 30 minutes of the site for reactive call‑out coverage
* Good IT skills (desirable)
* Full, valid UK driving licence
Additional Requirements
A full enhanced DBS clearance will be required before taking up the position. The successful candidate must also have evidence of right to work in the UK.
