The Opportunity
This is an exciting and pivotal role within the People Team at Chelsea FC. We're looking for a forward-thinking leader to help shape the future of our People function. As a Head of People Operations, you'll bring both strategic vision and operational excellence thus driving transformation, enhancing the employee experience, and embedding service excellence at scale across the club.
As a key member of the People Leadership Team, you'll lead the design and delivery of a modern, data-driven People Operations strategy aligned with our Club's values and vision. From employee lifecycle management and systems innovation to payroll oversight, risk governance and employee experience. you'll be at the forefront of redefining what great People Operations looks like in elite sport.
Key responsibilities include;
* Leading and delivering a modern People Operations strategy aligned to organisational goals.
* Driving transformation from traditional HR to a people-first, experience-led function.
* Champion the use of data analytics to provide actionable insights into workforce trends, risks, and opportunities.
* Lead technology enhancement projects, including the implementation of automation and system upgrades to improve efficiency
* Maintain the HR system as the single source of truth for all people data, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with GDPR and organisational policies.
* Overseeing core operations including payroll, data governance, HR systems, and compliance.
* Leading high-performing teams and collaborating across People functions to ensure alignment and impact.
* Championing EDI, employee experience, and process excellence across the employee lifecycle.
What You'll Bring
* Proven senior-level experience in People Operations or HR leadership, with a track record of strategic delivery and transformation.
* Deep knowledge of UK employment law, HR best practice and data protection.
* Proven experience leading successful HR system integrations and rollouts across complex organisations.
* Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
* Experience of delivering change projects (e.g. system rollouts, restructures, culture change).
* CIPD Level 5 or equivalent; Level 7 or project management qualifications desirable.
