Learning Mentor – Primary School, Tower Hamlets
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Learning Mentor to join our pastoral support team from 24th November. This role provides a rewarding opportunity to support children's emotional well‑being, behaviour and engagement across Key Stage 2.
Location: Tower Hamlets, near Bethnal Green Station
Start Date: 24th November
Contract: Full‑time, long‑term
Daily Rate: £95 – £115 per day
About the Role
As a Learning Mentor, you will work closely with the school's SENCO and pastoral staff to help pupils overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and develop positive attitudes towards school life.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide one‑to‑one and small group mentoring sessions for pupils requiring social, emotional, or behavioural support.
* Support classroom learning and help students engage positively with lessons.
* Collaborate with teachers, parents, and outside agencies to ensure consistent support strategies.
* Promote emotional resilience and positive relationships among pupils.
* Contribute to the wider school community and its inclusive ethos.
Candidate Requirements
* Previous experience as a Learning Mentor, Teaching Assistant, or in a pastoral role within a school.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Understanding of social, emotional, and behavioural needs (SEMH).
* Calm, compassionate, and proactive approach to mentoring and support.
* A genuine commitment to helping children thrive academically and personally.
