We’re working with a high-growth B2B technology company operating in a complex, highly regulated domain. The business is building a platform that transforms fragmented, real-world data into structured systems that power automation, advanced analytics, and intelligent decision-making. They’re at a critical stage of growth where establishing a robust, scalable data architecture will directly enable the next phase of product and commercial expansion.
The Role
As Head of Data / Data Architect, you will define and own the core data architecture that underpins the platform. This includes designing how data is structured, connected, and leveraged across multiple systems and use cases. You’ll play a key role in shaping how the organisation models knowledge, integrates data across environments, and scales its technology without compromising flexibility or long-term maintainability.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and implement scalable, modular data models and semantic structures to support advanced analytics, automation, and AI-driven workflows
* Define and evolve the organisation’s approach to structured and unstructured data, ensuring consistency and interoperability across systems
* Establish standards and best practices for data architecture that support both core product functionality and configurable client deployments
* Partner with engineering, product, and domain teams to translate business requirements into robust data models and system design
* Build and scale the data function, setting the technical direction and long-term strategy
* Lead the development of knowledge-driven systems (e.g. graph-based models, domain schemas, structured APIs)
* Balance rapid iteration with long-term architectural integrity, knowing when to prototype versus formalise
Requirements
* 7+ years’ experience in data architecture, data modelling, or related fields
* Proven experience building or scaling data systems in a high-growth environment
* Strong understanding of complex data ecosystems, including structured, unstructured, and metadata-rich environments
* Experience with graph-based data models, domain-driven design, or structured data APIs in production
* Ability to align technical architecture with product strategy and business goals
* Experience working in regulated or complex industries (e.g. finance, healthcare, industrials)
* Technical proficiency with Python or similar, and familiarity with modern data and AI frameworks
* Hybrid working (London-based office)
