We are recruiting for an experienced Cook to work in a Private Adults Residential home, which is opening in November 2025. As a Cook you will prepare and serve nutritious well balanced meals for residents in accordance with dietary needs, preferences, and health requirements, while maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety. Key responsibilities include: Plan, prepare and cook meals for residents Cater to any individual dietary requirements, ie diabetic, vegetarian, texture modified diets etc Ensure meals are presented attractively and served on time Develop weekly menus in consultation with other staff members, ensuring variety and nutritional balance Adapt menus based on seasonal produce and resident feedback As a Cook you will ensure the maintenance of a clean and organised kitchen in line with health and safety regulations. The proper storage, labelling and rotation of food, and comply with all food hygiene standards and complete necessary documentation/records are kept ie temperature logs. The Cook will monitor food supplies and place orders as needed and work within budgetary constraints while minimising waste. You will engage positively with residents encouraging feedback on meals and train and supervise kitchen assistants as and when applicable. You will have proven experience as a Cook preferably in a care or healthcare setting, however this is desirable rather than essential. Knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations and hold a minimum level 2 Food Safety Certificate. A Level 2 as a minimum in Catering or equivalent with experience of menu planning and budgeting. A fully enhanced DBS check will be required, however, the client is able to undertake this on your behalf if you do not already have one in place, a uniform will be provided as will meals whilst on shift. There could be some flexibility in the working hours and these can be discussed at interview
