Overview
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a principal contractor delivering works on the Environment Agency (EA) framework. The role will be site-based, primarily around Yeovil and the wider South West region, managing sections of works and site teams across a variety of civil engineering projects.
This is a freelance CIS role with around two years of secured work, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to work on long-term framework delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day site operations across multiple sites within the framework.
* Lead and coordinate site teams, including subcontractors and direct labour.
* Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, to specification, and within budget.
* Plan, monitor, and report progress against programme.
* Oversee quality control, environmental compliance, and health & safety standards.
* Liaise with the Project Manager, framework partners, and client representatives.
* Manage sections of works, ensuring smooth handovers and effective sequencing.
* Contribute to risk assessments, method statements, and permit processes.
* Resolve on-site challenges, ensuring minimum disruption to project delivery.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Site Manager for a principal contractor, ideally on frameworks.
* Background in civil engineering and infrastructure projects (EA/environmental experience desirable).
* Strong knowledge of health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
* Valid SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold) and First Aid at Work.
* Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the South West.
* Excellent organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple work fronts.
* Strong communication skills for client, team, and subcontractor liaison.
