The role
Required for January 2024 (with the possibility of an earlier start date by mutual agreement), The Governing Body of Christ Church CE VA Primary School wishes to appoint a Level 1 Site Manager on a 35 hour/52 week contract. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 11:00 and 15:00 to 18:00 (exact timings are open to discussion upon interview/job offer). The successful candidate will be entitled to 26 days of annual leave per annum for under 5 years of continuous Local Government service, rising to 31 days after 5 years.
Reporting to the Head Teacher & School Business Manager, your responsibilities include: security of the premises and contents (including being the registered key holder), lighting, heating, cleaning, porterage, and handyman duties, along with other duties related to the use of the premises.
A full job description and person specification are available from the school. Experience in building work, joinery, caretaking, maintenance, or site management would be advantageous. A good sense of humor and the ability to liaise pleasantly with staff are valued qualities.
Knowledge of premises-related statutory health and safety checks, risk assessments, and certification records would be useful, though training will be provided for the right candidate. You will also be required to undertake first aid training and be a registered first aider.
