The Internal Recruiter is responsible for assisting the Head of Recruitment in all aspects of the in‑house recruitment strategy for Flint Bishop at a significant time of growth and firmwide expansion.

Work hours: Full‑time, permanent, 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based at the Derby office on Pride Park.
Reporting directly to Scott Gregory, Head of Recruitment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Recruitment with a range of data and MI and presentation to managers and the executive team as required.
- Support the Head of Recruitment with training and development of the internal recruitment team, including new starters in the department.
- Work alongside Heads of Department and the Head of Recruitment to draft job descriptions for all roles.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the recruitment department, including candidate feedback and new starter surveys, presenting findings to the Head of Recruitment and management teams.
- Support the Head of Recruitment with strictly confidential executive searches as required.
- Oversee the planning and delivery of assessment days for the debt recovery department, collaborating with the Head of Department and fee earners, and seek continuous improvements.
- Manage applications across various platforms (Flint Bishop website, LinkedIn, Indeed and the applicant tracking system).
- Map markets and sectors to identify passive candidates for current or upcoming opportunities.
- Make outbound calls and approaches to applicants and passive candidates, assessing suitability for the firm’s vacancies.
- Keep up to date with industry knowledge to assess recruitment opportunities.
- Schedule interviews on behalf of managers and attend interviews on Teams or in person when required.
- Work with selected recruitment agents on the preferred supplier list to review CVs and provide timely feedback.
- Process regret communications to unsuccessful candidates, providing relevant feedback and updating the applicant tracking system.
- Build a strong talent pipeline for own vacancies and for the wider firm using multiple resourcing techniques and new candidate relationships.
- Maintain accurate records in the applicant tracking system.
- Provide weekly forecast updates to the Head of Recruitment on live vacancies and talent pipeline.
- Work through set weekly objectives and actions as set by the Head of Recruitment.
- Collaborate on employer branding strategies and campaigns to attract candidates and build engagement.
- Lead and manage relationships with universities and colleges to identify opportunities for work with students and increase graduate engagement.
- Organise and attend recruitment fairs and events with relevant universities and colleges to strengthen the early careers model.
- Support the Head of Recruitment with resourcing strategies in the senior market.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- At least 2 years of experience in an internal recruiter role; agency recruiters considering transition to in‑house roles may apply.
- Ideally experience in the legal or professional services sectors.
- Evidence of working to KPIs and deliverables while managing a significant number of vacancies.
- Strong negotiation skills and adept problem solving.
- Excellent communication, capable of handling crucial conversations at all levels within a business.
- Team player, able to work to high volumes and strict deadlines within a results‑driven environment.
