About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and reliable Site Manager to join a long-established main contractor delivering a broad portfolio of high-quality construction projects in and around Stowmarket and Ipswich. With a strong pipeline of secured work across both public and private sectors, this permanent position offers long-term stability, project variety, and genuine career progression.
Key Project Types:
The role will involve working on a mix of new build and refurbishment schemes including:

Educational facilities (schools, academies, colleges)
*
Healthcare and community buildings
*
Local authority and council frameworks
*
Commercial and industrial units
*
Heritage restorations and specialist works
*
Residential schemes and small-scale housing developments
Key Responsibilities:
*
day-to-day management of construction sites, ensuring safe, timely, and high-quality delivery
*
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, plant, and materials on site
*
Work closely with project managers to keep progress on track
*
Monitor and maintain site records, reports, and compliance documentation
*
Uphold strong standards of health & safety, environmental responsibility, and workmanship
*
Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams to maintain clear communication
What We’re Looking For:
*
Experience in a similar role on general building projects
*
Good technical understanding of both new build and refurbishment processes
*
Confident reading and interpreting drawings and specifications
*
SMSTS or SSSTS, First Aid, and CSCS certification required
*
Full UK driving licence
*
Strong organisational and leadership skills with a hands-on approach
