The Quality Manager assists the Regional Quality Manager and performs technical quality assurance activities. They strive to support all customers, both internal and external to the company, in their never-ending quest to improve quality.
The Quality Manager reports to the Regional Quality Manager.
Responsibilities:
Supervision, Assistance, and Teamwork (30%)
* Supervision of Quality Technicians and Quality Engineers
* Provides direction to the Technicians and Engineers to prioritize jobs as needed
* Activity reporting (Smartsheet) and maintenance of metrics
* Assist the Quality team in processing and resolving customer concerns, as required
* Provide the organization with technical support and act as a mentor to the Quality Technicians and Quality Engineers
* Understand and apply appropriate quality assurance and improvement processes
* Continuously upgrade skills and knowledge to improve personal effectiveness and provide training and guidance to less experienced/skilled personnel
* Recognize and evaluate the impact on others when making any decision
* Deputize for Regional Quality Manager, as required
Customer and Company Support (40%)
* Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities which include creating customer sample submissions, i.e., PPAP, FAI, ISIR, etc
* Provides testing and inspection support to Supply Technologies branches
* Record technical information, dimensional, mechanical and performance testing
* Effectively communicating with customers, suppliers, and employees of Supply Technologies, as required
* Customer concern technical support for key accounts
* Issue Corrective Action requests and 8D documents to vendors. Review and close out, as required
* Provide visible, active support for the ISO9001 and ISO 14001 management systems, Carry out internal audits
* Maintain a safe and unobstructed work area, follow all safety guidelines, and utilize appropriate safety equipment and practices
* Practice positive customer relations and constructive problem-solving
Maintaining and Creating Documentation (30%)
* Constructing complete and accurate Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) packages ready for presentation to the customer
* Utilize the Inventory Management System to perform required transactions and to generate reports and metrics, as requested
* Responsible for inspection and testing equipment maintenance and calibration
* Perform Gauge R&R studies, as required
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or an offsetting experienc e
Understand mechanical drawings and GD&T
* APQP Experience
Statistical analysis experience
Statistical Process Control (SPC) software experience
ISO 9001 experience
PPAP experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Experience in the use of basic inspection equipment ie: calipers/micrometers etc
Ability to work under remote or offsite supervision
Ability to travel
