Lovett Care is seeking a Cook to join our amazing team at Charlotte House Care Home. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in partnership with our team to deliver quality care for a diverse group of residents.
As a Care Home Chef/Cook, you will be responsible for preparing delicious, nutritious meals that cater to the individual dietary needs and preferences of our residents. You will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the efficient running of the kitchen, maintain high standards of food hygiene, and adhere to safety regulations. Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
* Assist with the recruitment of the catering team within the home.
* Support and induct new team members following company policies.
* Act as a leader, by motivating, and supporting the catering team.
* Conduct annual appraisals under the manager's supervision.
* Support team development through supervision and growth plans.
* Support the Head Chef in the efficient running of the catering department.
* Prepare high-quality meals while maintaining safety, hygiene, and cost controls.
* Create team rotas to ensure adequate staffing coverage.
* Manage stock levels and order supplies following company procedures.
* Operate an effective stock control system.
* Ensure all kitchen equipment is used correctly and well-maintained.
* Report any equipment faults immediately and withdraw unsafe machines from use.
* Provide nutritious meals that support the well-being of residents.
* Maintain a safe and supportive kitchen environment.
* Uphold and demonstrate company values daily.
