Facade Installation Site Manager - Manchester (Glazing/ Cladding) - On-site
‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾
T&D Glazing and Installation Limited (facade installation specialists since 2003) are hiring an experienced Facade Installation Site Manager for a project in Manchester (approx. 12 months, with potential to extend).
This post is written by me, Toni Timis. We’re recruiting directly on this one because I also work hands-on in recruitment and prefer to run the process myself from start to finish. Recruiters, nothing personal - we do work with agencies on other roles, just not for this vacancy.
Important (please read)

This is a site-first role.
You must be on site every day, most of the day, walking the job, solving problems, pushing quality and programme.
If your natural style is to sit in the office and wait for supervisors to \"report up\" to you, this role is not for you. We need someone whose instinct is to be where the work is.
Role overview

This is not a massive project with layers of staff. In the beginning, the right Site Manager will also handle some simple tasks and light project management coordination, alongside day-to-day site control.
Team size (as a guide): Q1 approx. 10-15 people, Q2 approx. 20-25, then it ramps as the job progresses, and towards the end (e.g. hoist infill) it may drop back to around 10 people (management + operatives included).
• Day-to-day management of facade installation works (glazing/ curtain wall/ cladding/ rainscreen)
• Lead supervisors and operatives, coordinate access, logistics, deliveries, and materials
• Short-term planning, look-aheads, progress reporting, programme coordination
• QA/QC: inspections, snagging, photos, installation records, handover evidence
• H&S: RAMS, permits, inductions, toolbox talks, compliance on a live site
• Digital correspondence: emails, trackers, site apps, BIM/ document control (where used)
Must have
‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾
• Proven experience managing facade installation packages on UK sites (glazing and/or cladding)
• Strong understanding of drawings/details and practical problem-solving on site
• Computer confident: Microsoft Office (locally installed on a company-provided, ready-to-use setup) - Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams - plus Zoom, Dropbox, etc. for daily digital correspondence
• Comfortable with common site apps/ document control/ BIM workflows (where used)
• CSCS Black Card (or a relevant degree if you’re not on a Black Card yet - we can help you sort it out, e.g. NVQ enrolment)

==========
P.S. We are the installation company (not a recruitment agency). Pay is confidential and agreed privately, but to satisfy the platform and those who prefer a guide: minimum £60k+, and we can go higher for the right person depending on experience, responsibility, and what you genuinely bring to site. If you're in this business, you know what you're worth, and you know what rates a specialist installer can afford to pay.
P.P.S. We will also hire directly (regular weekly work) local people from Manchester if possible, or anyone willing to relocate, for roles like: Supervisors, Slingers/Signallers, Facade Installers, Fixers/Fixer's Mates, and Logistics Operatives. If that's you, just text: \"Interested - I'm a ____\" plus your experience and tickets (CSCS, CPCS/NPORS, etc.).
P.P.P.S. We will also be looking for the right Project Manager for two upcoming projects, one starting September 2026 and one starting June 2027. If you are a proper facades PM and want to be considered early, message: \"Interested - PM\" and a short summary of your facades experience.
Regards,
Toni Timis (director)
Quick notes, so we don't waste each other's time:
• Rates are only agreed after a quick conversation
• Keep it polite, simple, and to the point
• Recruiters, we hire directly for this one, please respect that
