Data Architect – Hybrid (2 days/week in Reading)

This high-impact role involves designing modern data architectures, embedding governance frameworks, and mentoring technical teams — enabling analytics and AI across the organisation.

The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
* Defining and owning the company-wide data strategy.
* Designing scalable data architectures (warehouses, lakes, models).
* Embedding governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK) and ensuring compliance.
* Introducing and optimising Azure data tools (Fabric, Synapse, Purview, Data Factory).
* Supporting AI and analytics initiatives through secure, structured data.
* Mentoring technical architects and uplifting data capability across teams.
What You’ll Bring
* Proven experience as a Data Architect, Lead Data Engineer, or similar.
* Hands-on expertise with SQL, Python, PySpark, and Azure data technologies.
* Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and compliance.
* Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
