Recruitment Consultant / Customer Service Lead
Position Summary:
The Surgical Recovery Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical or invasive procedures. The nurse monitors vital signs, manages pain and sedation, responds to complications, and ensures safe patient transitions from the operating room to recovery and subsequently to inpatient units or discharge.
Key Responsibilities:
* Continuously assess and monitor patients’ physiological status (airway, breathing, circulation, consciousness, pain level, and surgical site).
* Post-Anesthesia Care:
* Manage patients emerging from anesthesia, providing airway support, oxygen therapy, and monitoring for adverse reactions.
* Pain and Symptom Management:
* Administer prescribed medications for pain, nausea, or anxiety, and evaluate effectiveness.
* Documentation:
* Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed records of patient assessments, interventions, medications, and progress according to hospital policy.
* Communication:
* Provide thorough handover reports to the next level of care (ward nurse or discharge team) and communicate effectively with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare team members.
* Patient and Family Education:
* Offer education to patients and families about postoperative care, potential side effects, and discharge instructions.
* Emergency Response:
* Recognize and respond to complications such as respiratory distress, cardiac arrest, or bleeding using appropriate emergency protocols.
* Infection Control and Safety:
* Follow strict aseptic techniques and hospital safety procedures to ensure a clean, safe recovery environment.
Qualifications:
* Education: Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
* Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience NHS and in critical care, emergency, or perioperative nursing preferred
