Overview
Quality Manager – Cannock – Temp Ongoing Contract – £28.59 p/h – Hours: 37 per week (Monday-Thursday 8:00-16:30, Friday 8:00-13:00).
My client, a leading manufacturer within their field, is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join their team on a continued ongoing basis. This role will provide leadership and direction for the Quality function at the site with the ability to support safety and environmental activities where needed.
Responsibilities
* Direct all areas of Quality to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with applicable quality, environmental and regulatory requirements.
* Lead and direct quality-related projects, utilizing appropriate tools to continually improve quality and performance targets.
* Agree control parameters for on-site processes; identify and develop methods for controlling and implementing monitors for reporting against significant parameters.
* Report on the Site’s Quality performance against agreed targets and objectives.
* Provide support to ensure all aspects of the Site’s QHSE system are maintained and continually improved.
* Minimise scrap and maximise customer satisfaction through robust root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions.
* Maintain budgetary control against agreed levels of expenditure.
* Engage with suppliers, internal and external customers on all quality-related issues; facilitate and communicate Quality expectations across the Plant.
* Interact with Purchasing, Production and Development teams to maintain product supply and support new product introductions.
* Manage and develop quality support staff.
* Participate in APQP activities on new or changed products; ensure quality documentation and PPAP for new or changed products are produced in a timely manner.
* Carry out internal audits of the quality and environmental management system, processes and products at defined frequencies.
* Ensure H&S risk assessments are conducted and actions completed in a timely manner.
* Maintain the calibration system for all measuring equipment; support data collection and KPI reporting to support company objectives.
* Ensure compliance with relevant national and international standards, current and future legislation as applicable.
* Provide training and develop relevant knowledge and skills; offer support in the absence of colleagues and undertake other duties as directed by the Senior Site Manager.
Qualifications and Skills
* Good communication skills across all levels of the business, with Customers and Suppliers.
* Strong interpersonal skills; ability to operate at strategic and site level; able to make tough decisions and handle complex situations.
* Ability to motivate and direct staff to achieve measurable results; works well individually and in a team with minimal supervision.
* Able to achieve objectives and deadlines.
* Good understanding of TS16949, ISO 9001, VDA 6.3, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, REACH, H&S and Customer Specific requirements.
* Knowledge of support manuals (PPAP, MSA, APQP, SPC and FMEA).
* Strong problem-solving skills using structured approaches and recognised tools; competent in report writing.
* Computer literate; proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Trained Internal TS16949 auditor; Trained as a VDA 6.3 auditor desirable.
* Holder of a full UK driving licence and a valid Passport.
* Flexible approach to hours; able to travel with possible overnight stays as appropriate.
