A well established Construction & Civil Engineering Contractor based in Manchester are looking for a Site Manager to deliver projects up to £5m. The company deliver a wide range of new build and refurbishment projects mainly within the Industrial, Retail and Commercial sectors. The majority of their projects are in the North West, although you may occasionally be asked to work away.
Responsibilities include:
Checking drawings and designs, highlighting inconsistences to your line manager
Checking and registering materials and plant deliveries for compliance quality and quantity
Checking and recording attendance and timekeeping of subcontractors and operatives
Production of RAMS, Inspection Test Plans and management/implementation and completion of these
Liaising with clients and reporting progress, quality, environmental and health and safety matters.
Attending internal and site meetings maintaining a professional manner
Able to read drawings, work to drawings, and convey information on drawings to others
Able to understand and work to programmes, also able to produce short term site based programmess themselves
Supervising subcontract trades, general labour to ensure the highest quality, health and safety are met, and compliance to their order requirements
Set up and input to subcontractor meetings be it pre-start or progress meeting
Carry out formal safety inspections ensuring construction and site safety is of the highest standard
Preparing site reports, inspections and test plans, ensuring these are kept up to date
Maintaining quality control procedures
Utilizing and maintaining all company systems, procedures, forms and templates and policies
Advising your line manager and commercial team of any changes, delays or the request of additional works or variances to the works
Completion of site health and safety, quality and environmental inspections and all the job-related paperwork
Read, understand, convey and build to only approved drawings and specifications
Experience required:
Knowledge of construction techniques, specifications and details
Previous Site Management experience on a range of building projects
Good communication skills and able to deal with clients, subcontractors and the internal team
Problem solving skills and accountability for decisions made
Commercial awareness
Team working skills, with the ability to effectively delegate
Well organized and thorough, with good timekeeping skills
Able to work on own initiative
Be able to run a safe site ensuring the highest quality
Be Computer literate (excel, word, outlook)
Have a good understanding of current Building Regulations, Health, Safety & Environmental legislation.
SMSTS, First Aid, CSCS Managers card, Driving licence are all essential requirements
