Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate traditional cook, with a strong work ethic to join our family run pub. This is a part-time position hours) mainly evenings and weekends. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in traditional pub food with a commitment to delivering enjoyable dining experiences. As a cook you will prepare and present food ensuring food safety standards are met, and manage kitchen operations while fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. Everyone within the team is responsible in ensuring kitchen hygiene levels are maintained.
Duties
* To prepare and present home-made high quality dishes
* Manage inventory levels, assisting in ordering supplies as necessary to maintain stock
* Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards in accordance with regulations
* Work independently and within a team
* Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service delivery
* To assist in creating seasonal menus
* Monitor kitchen operations to optimise efficiency and minimise waste
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a cook or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or hospitality setting
* Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety regulations, and kitchen management
* A passion for food and presentation
* Ability to work independently or a team player, under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
* Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and front-of-house staff
* Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are desirable but not mandatory.
