Job Title: Quality Manager

Our client is a specialist aerospace and defence manufacturing business providing precision CNC-machined components and aluminium dip-brazed assemblies to major industry programmes. They are currently seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and develop their Quality Management System, ensuring compliance, continuous improvement and a strong right-first-time culture across the business.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with a strong precision engineering or aerospace manufacturing background, capable of driving quality performance, managing audits and implementing modern, data-driven quality processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and continuously improve the Quality Management System in line with AS9100 and customer requirements.
* Manage internal, customer and third-party audits, ensuring corrective actions are effectively implemented and closed out.
* Oversee non-conformance management, root cause investigations and corrective/preventive actions using structured problem-solving methods.
* Drive inspection and verification activities, including FAIRs, metrology governance and dimensional inspection processes.
* Monitor quality KPIs and work closely with Production and Engineering teams to improve quality, reduce rework and support operational performance.
* Manage supplied quality and ensure compliance with traceability, certification and change control requirements.
* Promote continuous improvement and digital innovation with the quality function through effective use of systems, reporting tools and technology.
Requirements:
* Proven Quality Management experience within precision engineering, aerospace or defence manufacturing environments.
* Strong knowledge of AS9100-aligned systems, FAIRS, traceability, non-conformance management and metrology principles.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and customer specifications.
* Experience leading audits and managing customer and supplier relationships.
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to engage effectively across shopfloor, engineering and customer teams.
* Proficient with quality systems, reporting tools and data-driven continuous improvement methods.
* Engineering qualification and/or Lead Auditor certification would be advantageous.
