Job Description
This is a senior position with an international group of companies who specialise in products for the Automotive industry.
The Quality Manager will have proven quality management exposure within the Automotive industry, and importantly, you will have demonstrable extensive experience of being ‘hands-on’ with quality, managing Automotive Quality systems and building a quality team.
Salary, Hours and Benefits
1. £55,000 - £65,000, dependant on experience
2. 40 hours per week, 8am – 5pm

Role Purpose
The Quality Manager will manage all aspects of Quality, Quality Procedures & Business Operating Systems and to provide technical support to the business in the technical development of the Quality department and the operating equipment used to confirm quality assurance.
6. Ensuring ongoing accreditation in accordance with the business needs.
7. Develop / analyse the business through the agreed business systems.
8. Identify & implement improvement projects through robust PDCA.
9. The Quality Manager will assist the Managing Director in developing a cross-functional support team.
10. Drive the continuous improvement programme.
11. Liaise with customers / suppliers externally and internally as necessary.
12. Manage the department to achieving key performance criteria.
Quality Manager Candidate Requirements
13. Proven Automotive industry experience.
14. The quality team is small, so you will be willing and prepared to literally be ‘hands-on’ and support the quality team when required.
15. IATF16949 experience is essential. An HNC in Engineering would be useful.
16. Demonstrable experience in managing quality functions and implementing a quality management system.
17. Man-management skills (inc. Disciplinary, Performance monitoring, Manpower planning and recruitment).
18. Manufacturing / production experience (In-depth experience of production planning and lean manufacturing).
19. Customer liaison / Supplier focussed. Experience with excellent analytical & practical problem-solving skills. Financial awareness.
20. Previous experience of developing efficient quality and business operating systems.
Key Responsibilities (but limited to)
21. The Quality Manager will support / devise Quality and Environmental action plans, to meet all relevant standards including IATF16949 and ISO14001 and ensuring the complete and timely introduction of appropriate measures.
22. Authoritarian with respect to decision making on customer affected quality issues.
23. Ensure departmental & company procedures are aligned with the quality standards as
24. determined by the customer and adhering to the company’s quality procedures thereby ensuring continued TS 16949 registration.
25. Develop a cross-functional teamwork approach involving all departmental disciplines.
26. Constantly monitor and analyse performance and implement continuous improvements.
27. Maximize efficiency of operations via good management, a flexible manning approach to standardised work, practical problem solving, continuous improvement and plan, do, check & act methodology with built in quality.
28. Devise and maintain a continuous training and development plan.
29. Constantly improve and develop the process to ensure an efficient operation and delivering / improving the facility with all the necessary documentation so as to achieve full utilisation of the manufacturing resource focusing on consistent process that achieves the daily production targets.
