About the Role
Are you compassionate and experienced in safeguarding, looking to make a significant impact in supporting victims of sexual assault? We are seeking a dedicated Strategy and Safeguarding Manager to provide holistic care and support within a sexual assault referral centre (SARC). This role involves working closely with multi-agency teams, including police and social care, to develop safeguarding pathways and ensure timely, appropriate responses for children and young people.
This full-time position (40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm) requires travel and involves working with vulnerable populations. Full training and opportunities for further education are provided. All candidates will undergo pre-employment checks, including an Enhanced DBS, references, and vetting.
Main Responsibilities
* Lead safeguarding strategies and participate in multi-agency meetings with police and social care.
* Ensure information sharing for holistic assessments and develop pathways for children and young people.
* Improve responses to child sexual exploitation, gang violence, and trafficking through collaborative work with safeguarding boards.
* Support clients through the criminal justice process and facilitate access to healthcare services.
* Assess aftercare needs, including sexual health and psychological support.
* Develop training programs for staff and partner agencies.
* Provide confidential support to clients, promoting empowerment and self-esteem.
* Manage service delivery related to forensic examinations, sexual health, and counselling.
* Undertake risk assessments for the working environment and service users.
Essential Requirements
* Full UK Driving License and access to a car.
* Experience working with children and knowledge of safeguarding legislation.
* Experience attending strategy meetings.
* Level 3 or above Safeguarding children and young people qualification.
* Management experience and a qualification as a social worker.
