Summary
**Important notice**
In line with our redeployment policy, we’ll prioritise applications from employees who are under formal notice of redundancy.
We're looking for a Site Manager to join us at Cotehele Mill to take care of the operation of the mill and the production of flour.
Salary: £10,717.20 pro rata (FTE £26,793 per annum)
Contract: Permanent
Hours/working pattern: 780 hours per year. Approximately this is 15 hours per week, but will vary throughout the year. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year.
We anticipate the role to be doing more hours between March and October when Cotehele Mill is open to the visitors, with hours reduced when the mill is closed. This role will include weekend working.
Working location: You'll spend the majority of your time working from Cotehele Mill, part of the Cotehele estate. Due to it’s location, it’s likely you will need your own transport to get there.
What it's like to work here
Although based at Cotehele Mill, you’ll be part of a small friendly team, some of whom work across the Tamar Valley Property Group which includes Buckland Abbey in Devon, and Antony and Cotehele in Cornwall.
Cotehele Mill is located next to the Morden Stream and is an atmospheric reminder of the recent past when corn was ground here for the community. Although the mill is currently not water powered, we’ve recently installed an electric motor to allow us to mill and grind wheat once more to restart production of our wholemeal flour.
You can find out more about on our property website.
What you'll be doing
Day to day, you’ll be responsible for the planning and running of the visitor and milling operations at Cotehele Mill. You will be line managed by the Visitor Operations Manager, and work closely with the team of Welcome & Service Assistants based at Cotehele Mill, and line manage a team of volunteers. You’ll also be working with teams from across the Tamar Valley Property Group, including the Visitor Experience team, Collections & House Team, Countryside Rangers, and Facilities teams.
In this role, you’ll be leading our flour production at Cotehele Mill, being responsible for the conservation of the mill and surrounding buildings, managing compliance in relation to flour production, completing maintenance of the mill, and operating the mill to produce flour.
