Main Purpose of Job
Responsible for the day to day running of the quality team ensuring all products produced meet the customer’s requirements. Effective processing and feedback of customer issues and returns, and the timely resolution of containment and root cause analysis / actions. To record data for the site quality measures in order to drive improvement projects through the application of continuous improvement methodologies, quality control techniques and training. To be a key team player working as part of the site operations management team responsible for the quality performance of the site and in supporting the manufacturing/operations activities. To manage the UK ISO9001:2015 certification ensuring process and procedures are in place and complied with to ensure ongoing compliance to the standard.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Ensure all duties are performed in a safe and efficient manner within the parameters of current health and safety legislation (HASAW Act 1974).
* To manage customer complaints & returns in a correct and timely manner and to ensure feedback is given and the learnings from this process are fed into production, and 8D & NC’s completed.
* To work with the site team to ensure processes, products made, are to the correct quality and in line with the customers expectations.
* To improve the cost of quality through the analysis of recorded quality data, production scrap and the use of data gained from process capability studies, thus driving continuous improvement projects.
* To ensure, all quality documentation, measuring and checking equipment and master samples required for production are identified and in good working order prior to any production.
* To manage a register of calibrated equipment, fixtures, jigging, gauging and JIS’s that are required in order to manufacture a part that meets the customer’s requirements.
* To manage a process of new part introduction / part changes to approval thus supporting PPAP approvals and SRTD’s and capability and measurement studies.
* To manage the site quality team ensuring the performance of their roles (Production Audits, 1st OFF, Quarantine of non-complying products and materials, QCD), and the resolution of escalated production and customer quality issues.
General Duties
Ensure Health & Safety regulations and the company‘s Instructions and policies are adhered to.
Set example of company image with high standards of personal appearance and efficiency in attendance and timekeeping, and when visiting and dealing with customers and suppliers.
To perform all other reasonable duties as and when required by the RGE Management Team.

* Notify immediately, any accidents, near misses or hazards and assist in any investigation.
* Use and maintain in good condition, protective equipment provided for personal safety.
* Keep work area clean & tidy and free from obstructions at all times.
Communication
* Take part in briefing sessions as and when required.
* Highlighting any information, concerns or problems, which may affect your personal, team or site performance?
Development
* If required by the company, introduce new employees into the operation training them as required.
* Through the appraisal process, identify areas of personal and team development required.
* Develop through continuous performance improvements, customer service and operational efficiencies.
The position located at our Whittlesey site on a 40-hour week.
