The Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Human Resources Manager to lead our stand‑alone HR function on site. This is a hands‑on role where you will manage the full HR remit independently, taking ownership of systems, processes, and day‑to‑day operations.
What You’ll Do:
* Operate as a stand‑alone HR lead, managing all HR activity independently and building or improving HR systems and processes as needed.
* Lead HR activities including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee relations.
* Provide advice to managers and employees on policies, procedures, and employment law.
* Chair board presentations and monthly worker committees.
* Manage payroll data, HR records, and the online training system.
* Drive initiatives to improve Food Safety Culture and employee engagement.
* Coach and upskill managers to develop high‑performing teams.
* Support change management, restructures, and disciplinary processes.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven HR management experience in a busy operational environment.
* Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills.
* Proactive, innovative, and able to drive a positive work culture.
* Confidence working in a stand‑alone HR role, with the ability to take full ownership and be both strategic and hands‑on.
* Strong IT skills, with the ability to use and develop HR systems, digital forms, reporting tools, and Microsoft applications.
