Pay, benefits and more
You'll be paid a salary of up to £50,000 per annum. You’ll also receive 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days so you can enjoy a positive work‑life balance. The benefits package includes personal accident insurance, death in service benefit and a company‑sponsored pension scheme.
What you’ll do on a typical day
* Work closely with site leadership teams to deliver a robust people agenda that supports operational performance, contract compliance, and colleague engagement – including employee relations, change management, resourcing, talent development and ensuring full compliance with UK employment legislation and client standards.
* Facilitate harmonious employee relations with the site teams and respective trade union representatives to ensure optimum working efficiency within the operation.
* Provide full HR generalist support and advice to managers and employees – ensuring current knowledge of employee legislation and employee relations issues is maintained to keep the business area compliant and risk mitigated.
* Promote a positive employee experience and a culture of safety, engagement, inclusion and wellbeing across warehouse and transport operations.
* Lead workforce planning and organisational design initiatives, delivering key strategic HR projects and change programmes as required.
* Drive the L&D strategy for the site, identifying training programmes to meet identified training needs and ensuring talent identification and succession planning takes place.
What you need to succeed at GXO
* Proven experience in a similar HR management role within a fast‑paced and dynamic logistics environment.
* CIPD Level 5 qualified/part‑qualified or studying towards.
* Excellent people management skills with the ability to build and maintain credible and strong professional relationships at all levels.
* Be an effective influencer and communicator, able to positively engage and empower others.
* Be adaptable and able to work within a rapidly changing environment.
