A day in the life of…

As a Group, Conference & Events Executive, you will be driving groups, meetings & events enquiries from initial enquiry through to conversion and execution and as an ambassador to the hotel, you will be an expert on all the facilities on offer with the ability to advise guests based on their individual needs. You will qualify leads, create proposals, follow through and convert business in line with the hotel’s strategy. You will also conduct site visits ensuring all guests are dealt with efficiently and in a timely manner.

The Groups, Conference & Events Executive will be supporting the Groups, Conference & Events Manager and work closely with our Sales Manager, Revenue Manager & General Manager as well as with our colleagues to ensure deadlines are met and handovers to operations are seamless.

What do we need from you?

* Communication Skills: As an ambassador for our group, meetings and events at the hotel you’ll need to have excellent communication skills to successfully interact with clients, vendors, and hotel staff. You should be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally and have strong interpersonal skills.
* Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills are essential for this role. You’ll need to be able to manage multiple tasks, prioritise responsibilities, and work effectively under pressure. You should have excellent attention to detail and be able to manage budgets and schedules.
* Customer Service Skills: you’ll work with our guest first hand so you’ll need excellent customer service skills to ensure that our clients have a positive experience. You should be able to anticipate client needs, provide excellent service, and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
* Knowledge of Groups and Event Planning: Ideally, we’d love you to have knowledge of event planning, including understanding of logistics, catering, audio-visual equipment, and other details involved in planning and executing successful events.
* Flexibility: To handle unexpected changes or last-minute requests you’ll need to be flexible and approachable. You should be able to think on their feet and quickly come up with solutions to any issues that arise.

You will also be responsible for

* Following the hotel sales process, including directly answering incoming group and event enquiries, hotel site visits, event management procedures and accuracy of billing.
* Creating event function sheets to ensure clients requirements are accurately captured and distributed to the operations team.
* Pre-event communication through emails & calls, conducting menu tastings and post-event calls.

About you

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 years’ experience working in hotel sales team and possess excellent verbal & written communication skills

In addition, you will be:

* Organised with the ability to work on own initiative with excellent attention to detail
* Computer literate with experience of hotel PMS such as Opera OSEM or similar system
* Strong negotiation skills with a passion for driving conversion
* Sales focused and enthusiastic with outstanding customer service skills
* Flexible and capable of working well within a team
