About the Role
As a School Catering Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the school's kitchen and catering services, ensuring that healthy, balanced, and nutritious meals are prepared and served to pupils and staff. You'll be responsible for managing catering staff, ordering stock, maintaining food hygiene standards, and ensuring the smooth operation of the catering provision.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with catering management experience - ideally within an education or similar setting - who is passionate about promoting healthy eating and providing high-quality meals to young people.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the school kitchen and catering service.
* Lead and motivate a small team of kitchen and catering staff.
* Plan and prepare healthy, nutritious, and balanced meals in line with school and dietary requirements.
* Oversee stock management, ordering supplies, and budget control.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
Candidate Requirements
* ✔ Proven experience in catering management (school or similar environment preferred).
* ✔ Strong leadership and organisational skills.
* ✔ Food Hygiene Level 3 (essential).
* ✔ Knowledge of allergen management and dietary requirements.
* ✔ Excellent communication skills and teamworking ability.
* ✔ A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* ✔ Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).
