Woodhouse Nursery are looking for a Cook to join our team for 2 Days Per Week
Applicants must be able to work as part of a team ensuring that all health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
The main qualities of a good nursery cook are a warm personality a flexible approach and an understanding of the nutritional needs of children.
Responsibilities will include:
· Day to day running of the kitchen
· Prepare and provide snacks and freshly home cooked lunches for the children in our setting
· Prepare and provide a range of foods to meet dietary requirements
· Stock control
· Record keeping
· Adhere to food and hygiene regulations and other safety procedures in nursery
· Covering staff lunches in childcare rooms from time to time.
The preferred qualities needed are:
· Good team player
· Must be able to use own initiative
· Self motivated
· Have a friendly, loving and warm manner.
· Have food safety certificate (This can be completed through nursery)
· Enhanced DBS check will be required ( Checks will be completed by nursery)
· Pediatric first aid certificate (This can be completed through nursery)
The position is for 2 days a week to job share and you choose term time only or all year round. Your working hours will be 9am -1.30pm. Your start date can be discussed at the interview stage and you will be required to complete any training before your start date. There will be opportunities to work more days during the school holidays if you wish to do so.
