The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Site Manager to lead delivery of a prominent care‑home new build and extension project in Bath, valued at ~£8 million. The role combines the rigour of residential build standards with the additional compliance and quality demands of care‑home construction — supplying a challenging but rewarding environment for a skilled construction professional.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all on‑site works from ground‑up construction through to internal finishes and handover.
* Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, and site labour to ensure programme delivery, quality, and safety.
* Ensure compliance with statutory health & safety regulations, site‑inductions, and company HSE policies.
* Maintain daily site records, progress reports, QA documentation, and liaise with project management and stakeholders.
* Oversee construction sequencing, logistics, and site organisation — managing trades, materials, and on‑site coordination.
* Work closely with design, technical and commercial teams to resolve technical issues, manage variations, and deliver to specification.
* Ensure work maintains the high standards required for care‑home quality and regulatory compliance.
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience as a Site Manager on residential, care home, or specialist housing projects — ideally involving new build and/or extensions.
* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills, capable of managing multi‑disciplinary teams and subcontractors.
* Excellent understanding of construction programmes, sequencing, quality control, and handover processes.
* Valid SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications (essential).
* Ability to thrive in a busy, safety‑conscious, client‑facing environment where professionalism and quality matters.
