Overview
Full time Cook
* 35 hours per week
* Mixed shifts - 7.30am to 2.30pm and 12.30pm to 7.30pm
* Required for a friendly 44 bedded care home near the centre of Dorking reporting to the Chef Manager.
Responsibilities
* Work at all times with the practice taught in the Food Hygiene course.
* Prepare food for appropriate meals as specified by the menu.
* Ensure all food prepared looks pleasant, is tasty and kept hot/cold as required.
* Ensure food waste is kept to a minimum.
* Ensure kitchen is tidy and clean at the end of each shift.
* Ensure the safe working environment for other staff.
* Ensure fridge, freezers and food temperatures are recorded twice daily.
* Ensure daily/weekly/monthly cleaning tasks are carried out to a high standard and signed off.
* Ensure the Better Food Better Business is correct and kept up to date.
* Report any problems to the Person-in-Charge as appropriate.
* Ask residents for feedback on meals provided.
* Place orders to ensure plenty of stock is available to fulfil menus.
* Be aware of residents nutritional and dietary needs and cater for them at all times.

Requirements
* Some professional experience as a Cook.
* Be trained in Food Hygiene.
* Ideally minimum of an NVQ2 in Professional Cookery.
* Live in a 10 mile radius of Dorking.
