Workday Extend Developer – Contract | Hybrid (Norwich)

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Workday Extend Developer to join our team and support a key insurance client. In this pivotal role, you'll design and deliver custom Workday Extend applications and play an instrumental part in mentoring internal teams to build long-term capability.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and deploy tailored Workday Extend applications for the insurance domain.
Translate complex business requirements into effective technical solutions within Workday.
Maintain alignment with Workday standards around security, architecture, and integration.
Create reusable components and templates to enhance future development efficiency.
Oversee the full software development lifecycle, including prototyping, testing, and documentation.
Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues post-deployment.
Ensure seamless integration between Extend apps and other Workday modules.
Mentor internal teams through workshops, code reviews, and best practice sharing.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Demonstrable hands-on experience with Workday Extend (minimum 1–2 projects).
Solid knowledge of Workday object models, XPaths, and security frameworks.
Proficiency in Workday Studio and integration tools (EIB, Core Connectors, REST/SOAP APIs).
Strong understanding of OOP principles; experience in JavaScript or similar languages.
Effective collaboration and communication skills, especially in mentoring contexts.
Analytical mindset and problem-solving ability in agile team settings.
Desirable Experience:
Background in insurance or financial services.
Exposure to Agile and DevOps environments.
Experience with CI/CD processes, including GIT, Jenkins, or automation tools for Workday.
Familiarity with Workday Prism Analytics or reporting tools.
Prior involvement in technical training or knowledge transfer initiatives.
Understanding of Workday UX and People Experience features.
Knowledge of data privacy regulations in insurance contexts.
Relevant Workday certifications (Extend, Integrations, or Core HCM) are a plus.
